It Begins With Thumbnails
The Project:
Nine vector illustrations which metaphorically represent different services SCCI provides. These illustrations are for the home page of the company’s website and are meant to be displayed on a rotating carousel.
The Parameters:
Stick to the website’s pre-existing color palette; cool blues with a yellow or orange accent color.
Give the images a coherent theme. After thumbnailing out several ideas
Brainstorming began by sketching thumbnails of whatever came to mind. From here it was easy to see which ideas were working and which weren’t. This narrowed down the theme to something nautical. The compass thumbnail received the most positive feedback, making it the perfect test subject for the color palette provided to me.
